my home theatre is a threat
It would have made a good story, but ultimately, I did not have to put a magnet on the end of a high powered drill and move it around in front of my magnetised (new(!) giant(!)) television.

That is because newer models of CRT televisions have an automatic degauss built in. I learned all about it last night.

Another thing I learned is that I shouldn't put a subwoofer next to a CRT television.

This is the hazard of having an 'entertainment center'. It exploses me to all sorts of technological nonsense. Before the new(!) huge(!) TV, when my old TV was giving me problems, I decided to take it apart. Everyone warned me that I would get a big shock (literally) but that didn't happen. Instead, after I opened it up, I was confronted with a giant warning label, which told me that prolonged exposure to the insides of a TV is harmful to your health, might require an anti-radiation guard, and so on. I imagine that with the new television, it is exponentially worse.

On one hand: damaged health. On the other hand, I can now have people over for movie screenings!
