My multiple choice life
I decided that now that the stock market has crashed, it would be a good time to check up on my investments. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the password for not one but TWO websites. I spent a long time on the phone with customer service that day. That wasn't the weird part; no, it is almost normal for my coworkers to hear me imparting my Social Security Number upon someone with an Indian accent in "Dallas" or "Chicago". The weird part was that thanks to more stringent security measures, I was asked mutiple choice questions about my life.
"Based on public record information, I'm going to ask you some questions," the guy said. Then he gave me three options for previous addresses, previous counties lived in, and other "public record" information. I had to select A, B, or C. This happened at the second institution too. It took a lot not to laugh.
By the way I lost a bunch of money, but answering multiple choice questions all about me more than made up for it.
